A New Frog species is found in the Western Ghats of India across 1,000-mile-long mountain range along the southwestern coast. The Frog looked like a never seen before kind of Frog family with a galaxy of stars on its back. It was discovered during the research of Indian Institute of Science regarding the regions frog, lizard, and snake study.
Vijayakumar and Shanker were carrying out their expedition with a meticulous study of multiple elevations across the hill stations and forest range. The newly discovered Frog is the first of its kind found so far and no sisters have been identified for the new Ffor more than ten decades anywhere around the world.

Vijayakumar said, “When we started sampling, we realized we were digging up a huge treasure, This was one among 30 species we captured one night, and while I took photos of it, none of us paid much attention to it.” The frog hides under dead leaves to match with the atmosphere and stay safe at any conditions.
The Western Ghats is considered as a factory for biodiversity and holds many lives in it than imagined. Speaking about the frog, “I’ve never physically seen this species we’ve put all this effort into describing,” David Blackburn, the study co-author said. “This is an oddball frog – it has no close sister species for maybe tens of millions of years, Once specimens are digitized, it really doesn’t matter Owhere they are..."
